A delta printer, however, uses very small movements for all three axes in order to move to a specific location on the X-, Y-, and Z-planes. A Cartesian printer allows movement of a single axis without affecting the movement of the other axes. That is, you can move the X axis from one position to another without changing the Y or Z axis.
